23-Bible-Verses-for-When-Your-Anxiety-is-Triggered

The National Institute of Mental Health reported that an estimated 19.1% of U.S. adults had any anxiety disorder in the past year and that it was higher for females (23.4%) than for males (14.3%).

My own anxiety peaks during situations I cannot control like traffic congestion, crowds and even playing sports or some fast games.

There are many verses that speak to anxiety and so I have compiled a list for you.

Isaiah 41:10

So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

John 14:1

Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me.

Psalms 94:19

Ps 34:4

Philippians 4:6-7

Matthew 11:28-30

John 14:27

Peace, I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

Psalm 55:22

Cast your cares on the LORD and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken.

Proverbs 12:25 25

Anxiety weighs down the heart, but a kind word cheers it up.

1 Peter 5:7

Psalm 23:4

Hebrews 13:6

Psalm 56:3

When I am afraid, I put my trust in you.

Matthew 6:34

Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.

2 Timothy 1:7 (NKJV)

For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.

Joshua 1:9 (NKJV)

Deuteronomy 31:6 (NKJV)

Psalm 4:8 (NKJV)

Matthew 6:25-34

Therefore, I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing?

Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?  And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life?

And why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.  But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?

Therefore, do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’  For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all.

But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. Therefore, do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.

A word of caution

Anxiety can be debilitating condition, and I am not saying Bible verses alone will cure it.  Follow your medical physician for treatment.  However, a memorized Bible verse can be helpful in addition to medical treatments.
